I believe we all have places where we feel most like ourselves.
Places where our gifts come alive. Where our energy feels different. Where we leave feeling more ourselves than when we arrived.
I just returned from the Kindness Conference—an event I've had the gift of being a part of for the past four years.
People often ask me why it's my favorite event of the year.
For a few beautiful days, every part of who I am gets to come together... I get to create. I get to connect (#1 core value) I get to speak. I get to teach. I get to coach. I get to travel. I get to challenge myself. I get to facilitate conversations that matter. I get to serve alongside remarkable people.
We all need places that remind us who we are.
Not because our purpose only exists there...
But because those places have a way of clearing away the noise. The expectations. The distractions. The routines that can slowly pull us away from ourselves. They remind us of what has been true all along.
For a few days, I was surrounded by opportunities to offer what I believe I've been put on this earth to offer.
Not information. Not perfectly crafted presentations.
But presence. Listening. Curiosity. Encouragement. A calm voice in a busy world. Creating spaces where people feel safe enough to exhale. Where they feel seen. Heard. Understood.
Purpose isn't found only in the work we create - but in the way we make people feel while we're doing it.
If you have ever found yourself asking, "What is my purpose?" Try asking instead, "How do people feel after spending time with me?"
Because purpose isn't always revealed through what we accomplish.
Sometimes it's revealed through what we leave behind in another human being.
And maybe that's where purpose has been all along. |
