The pace that I desire this time of year is in deep contradiction to what swirls around me.
Slowly over the years, I have befriended the inner voice that says,
"Get quiet, daydream, rest."
For me, December is my quiet season.
Time to contemplate what change feels resonate for the year ahead.
For me, change is not immediate. I draw it close and shove it far away. I test it and shake it, deny it and then finally allow it.
This quiet season for me is about space.
Generous space that allows the most authentic answers to arise.
Not just the most familiar and comfortable.
Allowing my mind to stray from what has become routine and expand into what is possible for this next season.
What about you?
As the year winds down, how might you create space to listen deeply to yourself? What would it feel like to pause the swirl around you and honor your own quiet season?
Here’s to the courage to rest, to dream, and to step into what’s possible.
